What is BONDFORCE?

BONDFORCE is a Non-Traditional Stabiliser (NTS) designed for the control of road dust and surface road stabilisation; the product is semi-biodegradable, environmentally friendly and does not contain corrosive chloride compounds or waste oils. BONDFORCE is formulated from ionised iron, ionised manganese, molecules of carbo-sulphates, molecular amino-nitrogen and saponised polymers.

How it works

BONDFORCE uses electolytic elements and ionic stabilizers which alter the electrolyte concentration of soil pore fluid, resulting in cation exchange and leading to flocculation of the clay minerals. BONDFORCE increases absorption of ions by soil particles, ionic reactions with soil constituents and ion exchanges, which alter the molecular/colloidal structure of the soil. These reactions reduce the surface charge of the soil particles, resulting in an increase in bulk density and allowing for close packing or flocculation and agglomeration of the soil particles.

Dust Suppression Solutions

Traditional haul road dust suppression has been the use of water carts. The disadvantage of this approach is the excessive use of water. Treating the road with BONDFORCE decreases both the application frequency and amount of water required. BONDFORCE causes the soil surface particles to hold together, reducing the likelihood of becoming airborne (dust). Is also makes the haul road remain compacted longer with less loose surface material, therefore safer for traffic.
