BONDFORCE is a Non-Traditional Stabiliser (NTS) designed for the control of road dust and surface road stabilisation; the product is environmentally friendly and does not contain corrosive chloride compounds or waste oils.
BONDFORCE uses electrolytic elements and ionic stabilizers which alter the electrolytic concentration of soil pore fluid, resulting in cation exchange and leading to flocculation of the clay minerals. BONDFORCE increases absorption of ions by soil particles, ionic reactions with soil constituents and ion exchanges, which alter the molecular/colloidal structure of the soil. These reactions affect the surface charge of the soil particles, resulting in an increase in bulk density and allowing for close packing or flocculation and agglomeration of the soil particles.
Traditional haul road dust suppression has been to just use of water. The disadvantage of this approach is the excessive use of water and destabilisation of the road surface. Treating the road with BONDFORCE decreases both the application frequency and amount of water required. BONDFORCE causes the soil surface particles to bind together, reducing airborne dust. It also improves compaction of the haul road, with less loose surface material, and increased traffic safety.
